myMindcoach Terms & Conditions

  1. This service is free to you, as your school has purchased a subscription or a subscription has been purchased on behalf of your school by somebody else (such as the NHS or the local government in your area). We will not try to sell you anything if you sign up to the service – it is not a ‘freemium’ service where a certain level of access is free and then other things are available only as paid upgrades. It’s free to you in its entirety, and we do not attempt to sell anything to anybody who registers. You will therefore not be asked for any sort of payment details like credit card or debit card details.

  1. Typically if you are under the age of 16, parental consent (a fancy word for permission) to sign up to websites is required, however for this service parental consent is NOT required because it is providing tools to help you with your mental health and wellbeing. This means there is a legal exemption from the need for parental consent so you are allowed to sign up yourself and provide your own consent to us to use your personal data that you provide to us.

  1. In order to sign up, we need you to provide 3 pieces of information to us, and to click to confirm that you have read this information and agree to it:

    1. a username that you can choose (it could be your real name or it can be a made-up name you create)
    2. an email address where we can send you login information and your password setup link – so it needs to be an email address that you can access to receive emails, and cannot be a made-up email address.
    3. a verification code which will be provided to you by your school

  1. Once you’ve registered, you will have an account with us that will allow you to access the program content online, either using a computer browser or on a mobile device using our app. Instructions on how to do both will be provided in an email once you have registered with us.

  1. Registering an account with us means you have given us some of your personal data. We will also be able to see information about your use of the program, such as whether and how many times you login to use the program, and which bits of the program you have used. It is therefore important that we tell you how we WILL use your personal data, and how we WON’T use your personal data, and YOUR RIGHTS in relation to your personal data.

    1. How we will use your personal data:

The limited personal data you give us (the username you choose, and your email address, and the verification code which we provide to your school) is used to create your account. We will then use your email address to get in touch with you with details of how to login and access the program. We may also email you from time to time to let you know about new content that is added to the program, for example.

Your school or the body that paid for your school’s subscription may ask us to give them information about how many users have registered for the program at your school, for example, or if an organisation has paid for multiple schools to have the program we may provide them with information about how many registered users there are across all the schools they have funded the program for.  We will never provide them with user names or email addresses of any registered users though, so your use of the program is absolutely anonymous (unless you choose to tell anybody about it yourself).

    1. How we WON’T use your data:

We will NOT share your personal data with anybody else, either an individual or an organisation. We use it solely for the purposes of providing you with an account to access our program content and to keep in touch with you regarding the program and your use of it.

We will not email you trying to sell you anything, and because we don’t share your data with any other organisations, nobody else is going to start emailing you trying to sell you anything either.

We will not share your personal details with your school or the organisation that has paid for the program for your school. So nobody will know that you have signed up to the program except us.

    1. Your rights over your personal data

If at any time you no longer wish to use the program and want all your personal data to be deleted, you just need to email us at [email protected] from the email address you registered with and we will then take care of it within 30 days.

Everybody has rights in relation to their personal data under laws that are referred to as GDPR and these apply to you too. We are fully compliant with all aspects of these laws. These laws require us to take steps to ensure the safety and security of the personal data we hold about all users of our services like you, so you don’t need to worry about anybody getting unauthorised access to your information as we have taken appropriate technical steps to ensure it’s held very safely.
